University of Maryland Medical System Employees Sue for Unpaid Overtime

Posted on behalf of Peter T. Nicholl in Employment Jan 14, 2019

law books in courtroomOn December 18, 2018 our firm filed a Complaint against University of Maryland Medical System Corporation (UMMS). The Complaint alleges that UMMS unfairly denied overtime payments to its hourly employees through use of an automatic lunch deduction. Plaintiffs filed their Complaint on behalf of themselves and other “similarly situated” employees who worked in this position at any time within the past three (3) years prior to December 2018.

Plaintiffs allege that they are owed overtime payments for all hours over forty (40) that they worked in a week. In addition, our firm seeks to recover liquidated (double) damages and other statutorily-permitted relief for all of these employees.

If you worked for UMMS between December 2015 and the present as an hourly employee and were not paid overtime wages, you may have a potential claim. To learn more about this case please contact us.
