James Lanier is licensed to practice law in Maryland, the U.S. District Court in the District of Maryland, and the U.S. Court of Appeals 4th and 5th Circuit. Mr. Lanier graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1994 and earned his law degree from the University of Baltimore in 1997.
As an associate at The Law Offices of Peter T. Nicholl, Jim assists clients on a variety of personal injury and workplace injury claims. He has extensive experience representing those who were injured while on the job in workers’ compensation claims, as well as personal injury claims like auto accidents and medical malpractice. In his 20 years of experience, Jim has advocated for his clients on both federal and state judicial systems.
Outside of his work at the firm, Mr. Lanier is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group, the St. Thomas More Society of Maryland, the Carroll County Bar Association, and the Maryland Association for Justice, where he served as a Co-Chair for the workers’ compensation section. Jim has contributed numerous legal articles on Maryland workers’ compensation law and has also organized and/or spoken at workers’ compensation panel discussions for the Maryland State Bar Association’s Negligence, Insurance, and Workers’ Compensation Section, the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Education Association, and the Maryland Association for Justice.
